Excerpt

Excerpt is an optional text associated to a Post. On the intranet the excerpt is used as the summary for each article in the Latest News block on the home page and on the blog page as highlighted below.

If Excerpt is empty, WordPress automatically creates an excerpt using the first 55 words of the post.

To manually update an excerpt, simply expand the Excerpt section under the Document tab and change the text in the text area as highlighted below.
